To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter of reference for Chitwood & Company.

When I purchased my home nearly 15 years ago, it came with a poured concrete patio. I had it repaired & resurfaced several times until it finally became clear that it was irreparably cracked up. So, I elected to rip it out and create an interlocking paver patio in its stead.

I shopped around, got a couple of estimates, checked out a few references & investigated completed work on a couple of projects. Finally, I chose to use Chitwood & Company. I am currently sitting on my new paver patio enjoying the ambiance of it all, knowing I made the best of all possible choices.

Chitwood & Company did not propose the lowest bid but they did not propose the highest either. They were in the middle &, given their previous work & the laudatory recommendations I’d received, I went with them.

During the demolition, Marvin Chitwood was here every day operating his backhoe. The deconstruction went well even though the underlying grade and elevation needed to be changed. Chitwood & Company worked very well with the landscape architect, the pool resurfacing people and the irrigation company. The project was complicated since so many transformations were all occurring at the same time, but Chitwood & Company made it all seem so smooth & easy. They truly do work with you & your people, addressing your specific needs in a timely fashion.

Once the elevation was changed & the pavers were delivered, Chitwood’s installation crew arrived. They worked hard & long hours but were extremely accommodating, gracious & polite, & they really did create a true work of art!

In the end, the landscape architect wanted a few details tweaked to accommodate the placement of his trees. Chitwood made the modifications in a good-natured & timely manner. How refreshing!

I have had my fair share of attempting to work with “shady” contractors. Haven’t we all? You know those guys who say, “We forgot to include this” or “We didn’t foresee that”. That’s when contracted prices suddenly escalate to the great beyond, beyond all expectations.

But, Chitwood & Company agreed to do a specific job for a specific price & that’s exactly what they did do?

It seems somehow strange to say that someone did what they said they would & that that is what makes them exceptional. But, in this time & place, unfortunately, it is remarkable to meet people who come from true integrity & when you do, you want to sing their praises.

So, to those of you reading this reference, I extend an open invitation to come by & view my beautiful new paver patio. I’ll point out the magnitude and challenged of the original project & you’ll see the enduring beauty of the final result!

I couldn’t recommend Chitwood & Company more highly.
